Matters needing attention in punching and cutting of FRPP pipe


FRPP pipe is glass fiber reinforced polypropylene pipe, which is mainly used to transport acid-base liquid or gas. It is high-temperature resistant and widely used in chemical, smelting, medical and other fields. Punching cutting refers to the use of die to cut off the pipe on the press, which is the abbreviation of stamping part cutting. It is suitable for thin-walled pipe (d-tube outer diameter, T-pipe wall thickness) with relative thickness T / d < 0.1, such as FRPP pipe. Then the matters needing attention in the punching process of FRPP pipe are as follows:


1. In order to reduce the flattening phenomenon of FRPP pipe, the concave die is usually made into a little peach shape, so that the pipe can produce a certain amount of reverse deformation under the strong clamping of the left and right half die before punching (making the upper part of the pipe wall protrude), and then the pipe is cut by the cutter, which can reduce the defect of the pipe flattened by the cutter.


2. When the sliding block of the press goes down, the blade tip of the cutter contacts with the pipe wall, causing elastic deformation of the pipe wall. When the pressure reaches a certain value, the material at the contact between the blade tip and the pipe wall will deform plastically, and the blade tip will press into the material. With the increase of the pressing degree of the edge tip, the stress and strain of the FRPP pipe are highly concentrated, which leads to the instantaneous brittle fracture of the material and the edge point enters into the tube cavity. Then the cutter side edge and die side start to shear the pipe wall until the pipe is completely cut off.


3. At the beginning of pipe cutting, the chip is formed inward. Therefore, the process should be shortened as far as possible. Therefore, the cutter curve must be made thin and long, but the strength is poor and easy to break. If the shape of the blade is wide and short, the strength of the cutter is good, but the chip is easy to form inward, which makes the flattening phenomenon serious. It is not conducive to the punching process. Therefore, the cutter curve shape and size should be determined reasonably. It is the key to the success or failure of punching method.
